Inverness or Bust Rally: Loch Ness Monster
This truly is a Loch Ness Monster of a drive! Beginning in the Roman City of York and finishing in Inverness via some of the UK's most spectacular scenic routes. Shorter in length than some of our European adventures so ideal for first-timers or those with limited holidays.
Itinerary
Registration Evening: Friday
York, England
Loch Ness Monster starts in the walled Roman city of York. Nowhere in northern England says 'medieval' quite like York, a city of extraordinary cultural and historical wealth that has lost little of its pre-industrial lustre. All teams are required to register the night before the event at the rendezvous spot between 19:00 and 00:00 - so plenty of time to come straight from work!
Day One: Saturday
York, England
to
Stirling, Scotland
Day one sees our bangers pass through two National Parks - the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. Sights include Kendal and Lake Windermere. As we cross the border there will be no time for quick marriages at Greta Green as head towards the extinct volcano at the base of the cobbled streets of Stirling.
Day Two: Sunday
Stirling, Scotland
to
Inverness, Scotland
Day two sees us head further North through the breath-taking views of Loch Lomond National Park. If you manage to resist a dip in the water, you'll soon be on your way to Fort William via the settlement of Glencoe. We head North East from Fort William and arrive at Loch Ness to search for Nessie. From here it's just a short drive to the Highland capital; Inverness.
With the rally and challenges officially over we ask you to join us for the final Rally Rendezvous which will include presentations, speeches and a few other surprises – not to be missed!
